A couple of weeks ago we went down Rest Bay, Porthcawl late in the evening just before the sun went down. We got down there at 19:30, just in time before the car park closed at 20:00, so it was completely empty with no one else in sight. We went for a quick stroll along the coastline and I managed to grab a few cool shots of the MASSIVE waves crashing against the rocks, and the last few minutes of the awesome South Wales sunset. It was absolutely freezing, especially when we got soaked after getting a bit too close to the waves, and then as we were running back to the car we could see it... a f***ing parking ticket...
What the hell? It was meant to be off-season (free parking), and we were only there for about 20 minutes. Well, it turns out we'd missed the off-season cut-off by two days. Two. So what SHOULD have cost us £1 (if I'd actually read the parking sign like a grown up is meant to) ended up costing me potentially £85 in fines... of course I paid the fine within two weeks so it was only £25 fine, but still, incredibly annoying. Damn you, Porthcawl Council.
Here's the photos I took. Definitely worth freezing my nads off for (but probably not the fine).
